The tiniest MAC haul

I have a new found love for MAC. After exploring other makeup brands at the well loved Sephora over the last few years, I have to say I get a lovely satisfaction feeling after doing a little retail therapy at the MAC counter. The latest addittions to my collection are Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus and eyeliner in Teddy.
I absolutely love this powder. I've been using it every day since I got it. It gives you nice coverage without feeling too powdery (if you know what I mean). I've even used it on itself , with no liquid foundation underneth, and it made my skin look really nice. Now for the eye liner, I don't know if I love it yet. I have to say I've been reaching out a lot more for my Urban Decay brown eyeliner (the one that came in the NAKED pallet) than this one. It just isn't as intense as I would want it to be.

Off I go to night class!!

Make Up Diary Tag

I saw this tag on Dainty Dollymix and thought it would be fun.

1. What time did you do your makeup today? At about 6:55AM - gotta be in my car by 7:25AM!
2. What’s the least expensive beauty item you used? My concealer: NYC stick concealer which is about $2 but does the trick!
3. What was the biggest problem you needed to correct? My skin, as usual. Let's just say it's waaayyy less than perferct.
4. Did you apply false eyelashes? I don't even know my name at 7am.. no I did not apply false lashes :p
5. Did you do anything while applying make-up? I told the cats (Marshmallow and Lorelai) to knock it off. They're morning cats apparently.
6. Biggest make-up mishap today? I don't think I had any. Yay me! :)
7. Did you have a makeup inspiration in mind? Yes, I watched one of Elle's (Allthatglitters21) Youtube vidoes the other day and she was wearing a bit of a cat eye liner and eyeshadow on the bottom lashes isntead of liner. I thought it looked cute.
8. What was the most time-consuming part of your makeup routine? My face. Between concealer, liquid foundation and powder to top it off... oh and don't forget to blend!
9. What part of your routine is the most fun? My lips. I used to be all about the eyeshadow but these days I find lips much more exciting (I just made myself giggle with that statement). I used a nude lipliner all over the lips and a NYX lipgloss on top.
10. What part of your make-up makes the biggest difference in the way you look? My blush and what I use for my eyes. But honestly, any make up that I put on makes a huge difference.
11. Neutral or colorful eyeshadow? 95% of the time neutrals. I do like to throw some color on the eyelids from time to time.
12. Liquid or mineral foundation? Liquid foundation. I find that it gives me way better coverage
13. Do you do your hair or make-up first? I do my make up firts. Don't know why.
14. Did you pack a make-up bag to take with you for the day? No, I never pack extra makeup unless I'm wearing a specific lip color that I want to reapply throughout the day.
15. When did you finish your make-up? I finished at about 7:10AM and was early for work today :)

Google has better pictures than I do, but I took this one. Pretty.

Fortune Cookie Soaps Haul/Review

A few months ago I was watching one of my favorite Youtubers, Say Anything Br00ke, and she was reviewing soaps from Fortune Cookie Soaps. I decided I would give these a try as I thought they would be a nice "decoration" addition to my bathroom.
Here is what I got:
I absolutely HAD to get (or so  told myself) the Fuit Loops one as Brooke raved about this one the most. I do love the smell of this one, just as Brooke mentioned, it smells exactly like when you hit the bottom of your Fuit Loops cereal box and you are left with all the broken/sugary pieces. The other two that I got are The Candy Addict(Pink) which is kind of cotton-candy/kind of just candy smelling and Caramel Apple which I do love the smell of: It's a very clean apple scent with a tiny hint of caramel. All these were under $4 each.
Now for the downside....dun dun dun.....they DO NOT lather. Well, they lather a tiny bit but you really have to work it for a few seconds before they start to lather. Another disappointing little aspect is that the scent (of neither one of these 3 soaps) doesn't linger on your hands after using them. If you put your hands close to your nose right after using the soaps, yes, you will smell the scent. But, to make it clearer, the scent of the BBW soaps ligers on your hands waaaayyy longer than if using these.
I also got the Wood Soap Dish (pictured above) as I thought it complete the "decore" look if you will.
Sidenote: What does it say about my "decoration" abilities that I bought Fortune Cookie shaped soaps for my bathroom in an attempt to make it a bit more interesting and less hospital-public-restroom looking?
Note to self: Do hire an interior decorator after winning lottery and buying dream house.
Back to soaps talk...As far as customer service, I do remeber getting these fairly quickly as well as getting an email from the company asking to leave reviews and sharing thoughts (which I didn't do).
I guess it's up to you! If you have better decoration ideas than I do, well...maybe opt for their body butters. They sent me a sample with purchase of their Dragon Fruit one and it smells delicious!
