Outfit of the Baptism

I found this lovely dress at a tiny boutique in Little Tokyo (LA) last year. I was so excited when I saw it: It was the last one on my size, it was different,  it was cute, it came with a cute belt, it had pockets.  I asked the nice salesgirl if she brought all her merchandize from Japan and she said "no, I buy from Downtown LA" haha. Regardless, I love this dress and I always wear it with my F21 black leggins and by black suede Shoedazzle boots (bought last year).
So last Saturday was little Leah's (my boyfriend's sister's baby girl) baptism. It was a chilly and rainy day so I wore my Guess coat but forgot to take a picture of it.
On our way to the church, I wanted to take a picture of my boyfriend and he said he was going to count to 3 and after that I couldn't take pictures of him.
I got him on 3 fingers :)
And now for the cutest baby girl (and best behaved at the church): Leah aka LeeLee

The tiniest MAC haul

I have a new found love for MAC. After exploring other makeup brands at the well loved Sephora over the last few years, I have to say I get a lovely satisfaction feeling after doing a little retail therapy at the MAC counter. The latest addittions to my collection are Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus and eyeliner in Teddy.
I absolutely love this powder. I've been using it every day since I got it. It gives you nice coverage without feeling too powdery (if you know what I mean). I've even used it on itself , with no liquid foundation underneth, and it made my skin look really nice. Now for the eye liner, I don't know if I love it yet. I have to say I've been reaching out a lot more for my Urban Decay brown eyeliner (the one that came in the NAKED pallet) than this one. It just isn't as intense as I would want it to be.

Off I go to night class!!

Make Up Diary Tag

I saw this tag on Dainty Dollymix and thought it would be fun.

1. What time did you do your makeup today? At about 6:55AM - gotta be in my car by 7:25AM!
2. What’s the least expensive beauty item you used? My concealer: NYC stick concealer which is about $2 but does the trick!
3. What was the biggest problem you needed to correct? My skin, as usual. Let's just say it's waaayyy less than perferct.
4. Did you apply false eyelashes? I don't even know my name at 7am.. no I did not apply false lashes :p
5. Did you do anything while applying make-up? I told the cats (Marshmallow and Lorelai) to knock it off. They're morning cats apparently.
6. Biggest make-up mishap today? I don't think I had any. Yay me! :)
7. Did you have a makeup inspiration in mind? Yes, I watched one of Elle's (Allthatglitters21) Youtube vidoes the other day and she was wearing a bit of a cat eye liner and eyeshadow on the bottom lashes isntead of liner. I thought it looked cute.
8. What was the most time-consuming part of your makeup routine? My face. Between concealer, liquid foundation and powder to top it off... oh and don't forget to blend!
9. What part of your routine is the most fun? My lips. I used to be all about the eyeshadow but these days I find lips much more exciting (I just made myself giggle with that statement). I used a nude lipliner all over the lips and a NYX lipgloss on top.
10. What part of your make-up makes the biggest difference in the way you look? My blush and what I use for my eyes. But honestly, any make up that I put on makes a huge difference.
11. Neutral or colorful eyeshadow? 95% of the time neutrals. I do like to throw some color on the eyelids from time to time.
12. Liquid or mineral foundation? Liquid foundation. I find that it gives me way better coverage
13. Do you do your hair or make-up first? I do my make up firts. Don't know why.
14. Did you pack a make-up bag to take with you for the day? No, I never pack extra makeup unless I'm wearing a specific lip color that I want to reapply throughout the day.
15. When did you finish your make-up? I finished at about 7:10AM and was early for work today :)

Google has better pictures than I do, but I took this one. Pretty.

Fortune Cookie Soaps Haul/Review

A few months ago I was watching one of my favorite Youtubers, Say Anything Br00ke, and she was reviewing soaps from Fortune Cookie Soaps. I decided I would give these a try as I thought they would be a nice "decoration" addition to my bathroom.
Here is what I got:
I absolutely HAD to get (or so  told myself) the Fuit Loops one as Brooke raved about this one the most. I do love the smell of this one, just as Brooke mentioned, it smells exactly like when you hit the bottom of your Fuit Loops cereal box and you are left with all the broken/sugary pieces. The other two that I got are The Candy Addict(Pink) which is kind of cotton-candy/kind of just candy smelling and Caramel Apple which I do love the smell of: It's a very clean apple scent with a tiny hint of caramel. All these were under $4 each.
Now for the downside....dun dun dun.....they DO NOT lather. Well, they lather a tiny bit but you really have to work it for a few seconds before they start to lather. Another disappointing little aspect is that the scent (of neither one of these 3 soaps) doesn't linger on your hands after using them. If you put your hands close to your nose right after using the soaps, yes, you will smell the scent. But, to make it clearer, the scent of the BBW soaps ligers on your hands waaaayyy longer than if using these.
I also got the Wood Soap Dish (pictured above) as I thought it complete the "decore" look if you will.
Sidenote: What does it say about my "decoration" abilities that I bought Fortune Cookie shaped soaps for my bathroom in an attempt to make it a bit more interesting and less hospital-public-restroom looking?
Note to self: Do hire an interior decorator after winning lottery and buying dream house.
Back to soaps talk...As far as customer service, I do remeber getting these fairly quickly as well as getting an email from the company asking to leave reviews and sharing thoughts (which I didn't do).
I guess it's up to you! If you have better decoration ideas than I do, well...maybe opt for their body butters. They sent me a sample with purchase of their Dragon Fruit one and it smells delicious!

What da...???!!

I just finished typing a pretty lengthy post on Fortune Cookie Soaps and I went ahead and clicked Publish Post only to be greeted by an evil little message from blogger saying that there was an error blah blah blah blog post is gone.
This is what I will be doing for the next few minutes:

Outfit of a Couple Saturdays Ago

My boyfriend and I love to go to Little Tokyo in Downtown LA. It's so cute and relaxing..weird, uh? Oh and he loves to get mochi (for $1 each!) which I'm not a fan of. Anyway, this is what I wore on a pretty summer afternoon.
I am wearing a maxi dress by Forever21, skinny brown belt by Charelotte Russe, bangles by Forever21 (bought years ago) and my sandals were brown gladiators by shoedazzle bought last year.

I really do love the art on this wall.

This Summer's Most Worn MAC Products

I thought I'd share some MAC items that I reached for a lot during this past summer, which is now.. well... over. tears.
We have the lovely lipstick in Angel. It's just a lovely pink that goes on super creamy. I'm glad I picked it up on my last back to mac.
Cream Colour Base in Pearl. I have to say I bought this years ago and it's on its last leg but I do love it. It gives you the perfect glow on your cheeks, it just makes me feel like I put on fancy makeup lol.
Mineralized Blush in Dainty. Had I known how expensive this one was before I walked to the cash register, I probably would have not bought it... I do love the color and application though. It's a nice pink that I think would look good on most skin tones. I think I read on some recent blog that Kelly Osborne wore it to the Emmy's.
Oldie but Goodie:Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. I realize this is my 2nd "highlighter" of the post but I enjoy this one very much as well. Although, I am nowhere near close to hitting pan, I will hopefully use it up someday!
And lastly, we have Orb eyeshadow. This is the definition of lazy eye makeup day. Slap this baby all over the lid, draw on some liner and you are good to go...or I am at least.

Hope you've enjoyed your summer!

Jewelry from thecurrentcustom.com PART DOS!

Ok, back on blogger for part 2 of my "items I bought from the current custom".
I really love cuff beacelts and the Small Sterling Silver just hit the spot for me. These are $49 a piece and just like the link necklace, they are great quality!

I also wear this one all the time (here, I paired it with my guess watch). I've been thinking of getting a few more cuffs like this one to wear together.
And finally, I bought these lovely earrings from Lorraine's blog. I forget how much they were but they are the gold ones and they weren't that much more expensive than the cuff, I remember that.

Jewelry from thecurrentcustom.com -PART 1!

I wanted to do a quick "review" of some jewelry that I've purchased from The Cuurent Custom (Link!). Just a quick fyi... I purchased all 3 items last summer. I believe the first item that I bought was the 24" Sterling Silver Link Chain Necklace. A little back story...I started watching Lorraine (thecurrentboobies on youtube) last summer and she would always be wearing these chains. I thought they really went well with anything and really liked the style. I do remember shipping taking a while but the store is in Florida so - understood. I can honestly say that I've worn this chain at least once, if not twice a week since I received it!
There I am, just the other day. I took this picture when I got home from work (top by Express).
After receiving the chain, I decided to buy some other items that had caught my eye...

My favorite Lip Combinations of the moment

Just thought I'd share some of my favorite lip combinations and show some products that I use all the time and think are worth the money.

This is Rimmel lipstick in Airy Fairy and NYX lipgloss in Beige, which is not a beige color at all but rather a neutral pink. This is my top one, go-to lip that I have on all the time, especially for work. It looks great with any eye shadow combo and is very soft and cute.

Nude lip pencil by Maybelline and Soft Nude lipstick by Revlon. This is my "nude" lip. I can't do myht by MAC or any of its twins. They just don't look good on me. This combination, on the other hand, still gives me the nude lip look but it doesn't completely wash off my lips, which is nice.

That's all! Hope you enjoyed and please feel free to leave me your favorite lip combinations in the comments.

This weekend in a nutshell (w/ small haul)

Because we all need yet another body spray and lotion....and a few other things too :)
Started off my morning eating homemade pancakes (no clue why they came out so weird-looking), spread some nutella on them and had some coffee...mmmmhhhhhh.
My boyfriend and I hit some new shopping locations and I scored some very cute things that I will show you all below.

Pink (and a bit obnoxious) hoodie from H&M. I got this in a size 6, which is a bit bigger that I would normally, because I want it to be a comfy thing that I throw on when it's cold and I'm going to class at night.
Pink with black polka dots scarf: completely unnecessary but cute enough to add to the collection.. and less that $7!

I found this really cute shirt at Nordstrom Rack for $9.99. I really enjoy this time a year when everything with short sleeves is on sale but it's still hot enought (and will be hot for a while) where I will get a lot of use out of cute tops like this one.
I'm not even thinking about buying witer jackets or wool sweater yet. No, thanks.

Finally, I stopped by Bath & Body Works and picked up things in two of my favorite scents: Dark Kiss and Twilight Woods. I hadn't seen these shimmery body sparys before and thought... why not? I do have a lot of body sprays already but these...well these have shimmer in them ok? :p
I also picked up a Mentha-Lip treatment (not shown) in the cinnamint scent which surprisingly I enjoy very much.

I will leave you off with a picture of me, while shopping.
I'm wearing a Target dress (bought back in May), Steve Madden green wedges and G by Guess handbag. Oh I almost forgot my ultra expensive $8 sunglasses by Old Navy.
Hope your week starts off great. My fall semester starts this week so, not looking forward to it.
See you on the next post!

My First Blog Post

I've been following beauty and fashion blogs for a while now and I just wanted to see what it was like to come up with blogs and share ideas with people over the internet.
So here I go... hope someone out there finds this helpfull, interesting or fun.

Ok, to make this post a teeny bit more interesting, I leave you with a picture of my BABY!! My 6-month-old cat: Marshmallow
Yes, he is adorable :)
